About MPSC Exam
MPSC is a state level exam conducted by the Maharashtra state government to recruit qualified candidates in State Services and in various administrative services of the Government of Maharashtra.

MPSC stands for Maharashtra Public Service Commission. The MPSC exam is also called, Maharashtra Rajyaseva Pariksha (Exam).
Those who get selected get to work as subordinate officers to IAS/IPS within Maharashtra in various departments such as Administration, Police, Forest, Engineering, Education and others. The candidates get designated as Deputy Collector, Dy. SP, Assistant State Tax Commissioner, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Assistant Commissioner/ Project Officer, Deputy Education Officer, and other officers.
For this exam, only candidates from Maharashtra can apply.

MPSC Eligibility
- Candidates need to have domicile of Maharashtra.
- Graduation or Diploma (min 3 years) from a recognized University.
- Fluency in Marathi
MPSC Exam Pattern
Similar to the UPSC civil services exam, the MPSC state services exam is also conducted over three stages:
- You will have to first clear the Prelims – 2 papers (400 marks)
- Then you will have the Mains Exam – 6 papers (800 marks)
- Finally, you will have the MPSC Interview (100 marks)
A candidate has to clear all of these, one after the other, to clear the MPSC exam.
Preparing for the MPSC Exam
Read Newspapers
As part of your MPSC exam preparation, you will need to make notes from newspapers, based on the syllabus of the exam. You will need to refer popular newspapers such as The Indian Express, The Hindu, etc.
Solve papers of past years
It is very important for the candidates to practice the the papers of MPSC Prelims and Mains Exam from the previous years in order to get an idea of what the papers will look like.
