What is GRE?

Created and administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS) in 1949, the exam aims to measure verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, analytical writing, and critical thinking skills that have been acquired over a period of time and that are not related to any specific field of study.
Almost all the universities accept the General test score and usually everyone opts for this test. It takes place round the year and you can choose your date according to your convenience. The GRE General Test is now offered as a computer-based exam administered through qualified testing centers.
The GRE Test consist of three sections:

The GRE test is a Computer Adaptive Test that allows Skipping Questions within a section and allows using on-screen calculator . The scoring scale for GRE is 130 – 170 with 1 point Increment.
The Test pattern is as follows:
Quantitative
- Data Sufficiency
- Data Interpretation & Statistics
- Problem Solving
- 2 Sections (20 Q’s/35 Minutes per section)
Verbal
- Reading Comprehension
- Sentence Correction
- 2 Sections (20 Q’s/30 Minutes per section)
AWA
- Issue essay: 30 minutes
- Argument Essay: 30 Minutes
